Home » Shopping » Return of the Jumpsuit: 6 Must Have All in Ones

When jumpsuits and playsuits first returned from their 1970’s cave, I think a fair few people were in fact umming and arghing over such a comeback. The reappearance does, however, appear to be gaining more and more popularity as we witness the most glamorous celebrities exchanging their elegantly stunning gowns for dashingly sophisticated jumpsuits. And really, what is there not to love about them?! They’re practical and comfortable, can be both dressed up or down with just the change of footwear, and any difficult and demanding decisions in pairing trousers with tops can be completely washed away – they’re a one piece. Winner. (Apart from those sad moments when you realise you need the toilet, but if that’s the only con, I’m sure we can live with it).

Tropical Print Frill Top Playsuit

Tropical print is proving to be a huge summer trend this year and I’m really loving this palm playsuit. I love the dichromatic colour scale of the pink and black palm tree silhouettes and how they, along with the neckline frill create a boho appeal, making it perfect for a beach holiday. This palm print playsuit would team perfectly with some jelly sandals and either a leather or a plain bomber jacket.

Black Floral Playsuit

I love everything floral and this chiffon playsuit definitely earns a thumbs up from me! Against the jet black chiffon, the floral pattern looks so elegant and the colours blend and work together so beautifully. Creating a contrast against the gorgeous pattern, the studded belt adds a small factor of edginess. The back panel only adds to the elegant factor, making this one perfect for an excuse to dress up. I’d team this with a plain blazer and either white converse or wedge sandals.

Blue Jumpsuit

To add a splash of colour to your wardrobe this summer, look no further than a bright but plain jumpsuit. I love this fun shade of bold cobalt blue and the elasticated waist which hitches you in, emphasizing that feminine figure. Team with strappy platforms and a brightly patterned blazer (perhaps either floral or aztec) for a glam evening look, whilst layering either a plain or printed shirt underneath with a pair of converse would look great for a more casual day time attire.

Drape Skort Playsuit

Skorts are great for those days when you want to look lady-like but also just want to feel comfortable. Their deceiving skirt appearance makes them so practical yet sophisticated all at the same time. The drape featured on the top of this playsuit adds a factor of elegance, also making it appear more interesting as opposed to if it were left plain. A patterned bomber jacket and a pair of converse would go perfectly with this playsuit in order to maintain the sporty look that the skort style gives.

Lace Playsuit

Pastel colours and lace are two perfect combos for summer and this playsuit definitely shows that! The intricate lace design looks adorable yet retro which harmonizes so well with the monochromatic nude colours. This would look great for an evening away on a a beach holiday when teamed with a kimono and pair of wedges!

Neon Floral Jumpsuit

Bold neon is the way forward. I love the bright contrast between the orange and blue as it harmonizes with the boldness of the patter. I love the clumsy appearance of the flower motifs and the loud volume which they eject. This would pair really well with some metallic strappy sandals and a plain longline blazer in order to tone down the boldness sightly.

Will you be sporting the jumpsuit/playsuit trend this summer? How will you be styling them?
