It’s that time of year again, my favourite time of year…Fashion Week. The New York Fashion Week is already done and dusted now it’s London’s turn. I don’t only find the fashion shows exciting but also the street style that surrounds the fashion activity. Unfortunately, being part of the excitement may be quite expensive, nonetheless fashion week is not any less important to us non-attendees. There are other ways to keep up.
Current fashion Week shows are presenting the Autumn/Winter 2016/2017 Collections, thus what we’ll be wearing in two seasons. In other words the trends on the catwalks are not relevant to our style right now. However, the activity that surrounds fashion week sees a lot of people, amongst who are celebrities, models and fashionistas, in the latest trends. A lot of this street style essence is captured and thankfully enough is put on pinterest. Looking through the snapshots is a good way to get some new inspiration to make your outfits even more stylish while developing pinterest addictions and in my case maintain an Alexa Chung Addiction too.
Not attending fashion week is no longer an issue with the existence of google. Trend reports and summaries are easily found all over fashion websites. Most websites also present highlights from fashion shows. My favourite of all is Vogue. Once a show is over you can see all the close shots of every design presented and these will remain in the archives for your access come A/W16 when you need to refresh your memory. You also get backstage shots, talk about getting the VIP treatment. If you want something better than that, don’t worry, there is even a live stream of London Fashion Week which you can access if you click here. I told you you can keep up!
