Embracing the masculinity of the wool cape is always daunting when it comes to everyday style and this is why I’ve put together a laid back casual look that you can incorporate into your wardrobe this season. This piece is from Lavish Alice and I really like the oversized structure of it to give that chic, pulled together look.
What’s refreshing about this coat is the fact you can dress it up for evening attire or down for an everyday laid back look with the neutral grey tone and tailored shape. Having a cape makes for the perfect wardrobe staple and even more so in wool for the colder months! Layering with this piece is really easy and adds more interest to your casual attire just like I’ve done with this oversized H&M chunky knit jumper. You can also play around with different jean lengths and shapes or opt for a bodycon dress when wearing this cape to fit in with your evening wear.
The thing I love most about this cape is the relaxed open design to layer with thick chunky knits in the winter and how it works all year round. I’ve paired the cape with a chunky grey knit and slim leg jeans to play with the silhouette and give a more slimming appearance. I wanted to keep proportions balanced and not have everything oversized and really liked how this outfit turned out with the different shades of grey and then crisp white chunky trainers.
Everything in this outfit fits in perfectly with this seasons trends but you can also work this into Spring with a bodycon knit and lighter fabrics or you could try a more formal dress with lace up heels for a modern take on occasional wear.
