Sleek and elegant. The shift dress first graced us with it’s presence in the 1920s, being a hit with the flapper girls. It then made a reappearance in the 1960s with famous faces such as Twiggy sporting the look. Now we’re seeing them everywhere on the high street and they’re one of the easiest items of clothing to wear. So, I’ve had a look to see if I can compile some of the best shift dresses around, so you too can rock the emerging trend!
This floral t shirt dress is from Next. I’ve actually just bought this dress and I absolutely love it. It’s fun, bright colours make it perfect for summer and the length is perfect. It’s not too short so you can actually bend down without flashing to the world. A funky yet classy option. It’s definitely worth the £32!
The next one I found was this Zara flower print dress. The mint flowers compliment the black background perfectly and the zip up the back is concealed, making it look more put together. This one comes in at £45.99 which is quite a lot, but you’re guaranteed quality from Zara.
The final option is a little less bright and channels the monochrome trend. This shift dress from River Island is simple and easy to style. Pair it with some grungy black boots and a gold chain necklace and you’ve got yourself and effective outfit. This one costs £40.
That’s just a few of the shift dresses that are around at the moment! There’s loads more so you’re bound to find one that you like and that suits you! Let me know how you get on!
