On Wednesday the 16th, Bullring hosted the Spring Fashion Fix event, in which we got the chance to look at the key trends of this year’s spring/summer season.
The event consisted of workshops and consultations in both fashion and beauty from several shops that can be found in the Bullring, like the free make up consultation with the Body Shop or trialling Hotel Chocolat’s Cocoa Juvenate Collection creams.
In the Style Fix Workshop, we learnt how to recreate this season’s catwalk trends using high street items. The main focus was the Basic Outfit items which were used in all five outfits. The items were, a white chiffon racer back sleeveless top from Mango (price: £24.99), plain white cigarette shaped cropped trousers and nude classic point court heels from Topshop (Price: £58.00).
The five trends that we spoke about were: Pretty Things, which focused on pastel colours; Sports Luxe, Going Global, which focused on African prints and embellished jackets; Monochrome and Colour Palette. Here are two of my favourite trends:
Pretty Things
For this trend, they paired up the basic outfit with summer coats, amazing sunglasses and embellished statement necklaces creating a light and stylish outfit perfect for the British spring and summer season.
Going Global
This is definitely one of my favourite ones as it involves a lot of prints. Oriental, floral and African prints are definitely in this season and the showed us amazing outfits by both Warehouse and Topshop.
Wei (left) wears an African inspired satin straight leg trouser (£45) and a blue and burgundy African print crop top (£14) from Topshop.
Bruna (right) wears a white and blue floral geo-print trouser (£36) and blue and orange border floral sleeveless top (£36) from Warehouse.
