Home » Fashion » Team GB: Coordinate Your Look with British Colours

Britain has had a lot to celebrate recently! It all gained momentum after royals Kate and William tied the knot back in 2011. Followed by the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, both hosting and our success at the 2012 Olympics, the annual Royal Ascot and more excitingly, the expectant birth of a new baby royal this summer.

Most recently was Andy Murray’s victory at Wimbledon and so with the freshness of Summer finally in swing, why not intertwine the purity of the British flag colours with Great British fashion trends to maintain that patriotic positivity as we head into the Ashes.

Tube Pants: River Island | Crop Jumper: Topshop | Necklace: Oasis | Trainers: Converse

A very youthful and casual daywear look, the 90’s high-waisted pants paired with the freshness of the white crop jumper demonstrates simplicity at its best. Statement necklaces are very in right now and liven up even the most basic of outfits. A pair of original converse upholds the informal style with the subtle red and blue stripe contributing to the overall patriotic effect. Alternatively, you could switch the necklace for an oversized red handbag should you be off to uni or college. Either way, it’s cheap. It’s cheerful. It’s chic!

Fringe Shift Dress: Topshop | Navy Embellished Box Clutch: River Island | Red Strap Sandals: Primark | MUA Fever Red Nail Polish: Superdrug | Ruby Woo Lipstick: MAC Cosmetics

Moving into the evening, the fringe detailing is a perfect playful summer style with its sassy texture giving the dress its body and movement. The use of red accessories is dramatic, as the richness of the colour is very eye-catching and so the darker tone of the navy blue helps compliment, as opposed to creating a clash. The simplicity of the three colours allows for a refreshing look and is versatile in the sense that it can be suited for any occasion including night outs, dinner, garden parties and christenings amongst many more.
