Shopping for the perfect outfit can be stressful; finding something that suits you, looks good, is on trend and most of all in your size can be a tough challenge to conquer. Most high street stores do try to cater for a wide range of sizes but I feel that they don’t try hard enough. I cannot count the amount of times I have been into stores like Topshop and River Island found an item I have fallen in love with only to realise the only sizes left on the rail are teeny tiny and let’s face it pretty useless. Considering the average British dress size for women is a size 16 why don’t our shops take heed and fill up on bigger sizes for the new curvier woman.
Many of our resident high street stores will stock plus sizes for online customers rather than on the shop floor so this is our solution, kick back relax and grab the laptop.
A big trend this season is monochrome; a very easy to wear style due to its simplicity. Black and white will always look sleek and sophisticated if put together in the right way. Additionally black and white will never go out of style whether a shirt or skirt monochrome is a wardrobe staple you will pull out time and time again.
This season we have been spoiled for choice, the idea of monochrome has been modernised with texture, pattern and graphic prints allowing us to become more daring in our black and whites.
Simplicity with an edge is the best way to describe this year’s monochrome. This shirt dress is easy to wear and doesn’t require too much thinking. Keep it clean and uncomplicated by paring a pair of pumps and statement necklace for a casual look with personality. For an evening out add a black clutch and a pair of black ankle strap heals for a classic yet sexy overall effect.
