As we move out of winter and into the spring (well, I hope)… we can begin to ditch the over sized jackets with the fur lining and opt for something a little more light weight. I often find it can be hard deciding what to wear in the spring, especially in the evening. You may find that it’s still too cold to go out in short dresses and alike. The secret solution is jeans, plain top (I suggest black but it’s up to you), heels and a patterned blazer. I recently bought a patterned blazer on sale at French Connection for just £20! I know right, bargain! I love it. It’s so colourful and bright and will look perfect with black jeans, a black top, heels and bright pink lips for a night out with the girls.
So where can you get your snazzy blazers from? Fear not my friends, I’ve scoured the internet to find some favourites that will work for this look. And they won’t damage your bank balance too drastically.
Boohoo.com is great for fashion forward clothing at affordable prices. This blue floral blazer puts a unique twist on the floral pattern trend by using quirky colours and shapes. Pair this with a very plain outfit and let the blazer be your ‘stand out’ piece. This one comes in at £25.
If you feel that may be a little too bright for you why not go for this lace blazer from Missguided.co.uk? It’s classic and sophisticated style offers a more relaxed look and you could even maybe swap the jeans for some leather look trousers or leggings to spice it up a bit. This number costs £29.99.
People sometimes overlook shops like Mango, thinking they’re really expensive and sell mainly work wear. Don’t underestimate girls, Mango normally have some lovely pieces at good prices, like this floral blazer for just £29.99 in the sale. It’s tailored fit creates a sleek silhouette, giving you shape and definition. Match the jacket with a bright red lippy and you’re ready to go!
Ok, so I know this last one from Asos is a little more expensive at £55 but I just couldn’t resist! It’s simple black and white colours mean the eye is drawn to the interesting patterns on the blazer, giving you an all round more interesting look. Again, teamed with bright lips and heels, you’ll look elegant yet fun.
There you go. I’ve shared my main tip on how to look stylish this spring but do you have any more? I’d love to hear!
