The most prestigious night in the music industry was held last night in the Los Angeles, Staples Centre. All the hottest stars in music attended the yearly event to celebrate this year’s most successful artists. With Daft Punk scooping two Grammy’s for Album of the year and Record of the year. While Macklemore and Ryan Lewis secured four Grammy’s for Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance, Best Newcomer and Best Rap Song. Meanwhile Grammy winning regulars and good friends, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake continued their winning streak and each won a Grammy.

Without a doubt the highlight of the night was music’s greatest power couple, Beyoncé and Jay-Z performing her new smash hit Drunk in Love, with Beyoncé debuting a new slimmer frame in a skimpy leotard, she never fails to deliver on the performance front. Meanwhile Pink, put on a one woman acrobatics show singing her smash hits ‘Try’ and ‘Just Give Me a Reason’.

However the greatest part of the show was of course the fashion stakes. This year’s red carpet saw a lot of metallic dresses, some androgynous fashion and some questionable head wear.

Taylor Swift in Gucci Premiere

Taylor Swift looks fabulous in this sparkly metallic Gucci dress, the simple hair and makeup really allow the dress to speak for itself, while the simple drop diamond earrings really complete the look one of my best from the night. Meanwhile a pregnant Ciara knew exactly how to dress her baby bump, the singer was glowing in a metallic long sleeve, floor length dress by Emilio Pucci, Ciara definitely wins my award for best dressed bump.

Madonna worked the androgynous look with her date son David. The pair both wore Ralph Lauren suits. While this look should have been a fashion don’t, Madonna pulled it off reminding everyone of that notorious performance with Britney Spears.

Meanwhile Pharell’s extremely large Vivienne Westwood fedora hat was a real talking point of the red carpet fashions. Not only did the singer/producer decide to go for the dressed down look, wearing a red Adidas jacket and white t-shirt, the hat was the most questionable part about the whole look.

My favourite look of the evening goes to Miss Katy Perry. Katy stayed true to who she was and wore a beautiful Valentino gown. The floor length dress, made Katy look like a musical princess, with the flowing skirt and quirky musical notes, she definitely wins my best dressed.
