When I was told about a new monthly Vintage event, selling clothes at just £15 a kilo, I instantly thought, surely this is too good to be true? What’s the catch? For those of you who don’t know a kilo works out at about 4 to 5 fabulous vintage finds, for yes, £15!!!
As it turns out there was no catch! A new organisation called Seek & Revive are out to change the way we shop vintage. I couldn’t believe it either, at just £15 a kilo, it’s perfect for the student budget. With the sun shining through the venue, The Oval Space, in East London’s Bethnal Green was the perfect backdrop for the event. When I arrived, I was surprised by the lively buzz around the place, the DJ had already hit the decks, setting the perfect vibe for plunging through the rails of both male and female clothes and accessories. One of the organisers Ebele, described the event as, “a party in the day but with plenty of shopping!” I couldn’t agree more! The DJ had me in the perfect mood for shopping and when all the rummaging had become a little too much, I took a break and hit the rooftop Bar & BBQ for a well deserved burger, that was complimented by the scenic views of the East London streets visible from the rooftop.
So what kind of things can you find at Seek & Revive? After an energetic few hours of rummaging, I’d grabbed a chic Prada belt, this season’s must have monochrome shirt and some stylish rust capri pants, amongst many more vintage finds. So whether you’re just looking for a few new pieces for your wardrobe or a whole style revamp, it’s a great and affordable way to shop.
Other than the fantastic price, what makes Seek & Revive different from other vintage sellers? Ebele explained, “There isn’t really anything else like this out there at the moment. We offer such variety and so many different products. Today’s been very busy with many more expected later. I’m just excited for the next event.”
For a great shopping day out, I’d advise everyone from vintage fanatics to vintage virgins to check out the next Seek & Revive event, which will be held on the 1st of June, at The Oval Space, Bethnal Green.
