Winter is practically here, and for many people that means jetting off to the mountains for a ski trip for sun, snow and apres-ski! Apres-ski style is undoubtedly cool and cosy, but you don’t have to be in Meribel to pull it off, so channel your inner snow-bunny with these fun and toasty warm winter pieces.
The high street is absolutely teeming with trendy fairisle jumpers at the moment which come in a variety of shapes and colours, but why not invest in one that will not only keep you super warm, but look stylish for years to come. I love this one from Nasty Gal; it is perhaps a little more expensive than the bargain shops, but it is so classy that it can be seen as an investment really.
No après-ski look is complete without a pair of snow boots to keep your tootsies warm, and to make sure you don’t slip over in any ice. They are usually pretty handy in the rain too, which is a definite bonus in British winter weather! Even better is that they tend to make your legs look thinner and more toned and that you can get away with a bolder style. These ones from Matalan are perfect – love the muted palate and also the price tag, which is a complete bargain at only £20.
A puffy down jacket looks great thrown over skinny jeans, and will keep Jack Frost at bay. Plus they are pretty timeless buy that you can bring out season after season. This one from Ralph Lauren is adorable – especially love the faux fur collar! At only £75 on Grabble, it is a steal too.
Tucked into winter boots, skinny jeans are just so effortlessly stylish, and chances are, you already have this wardrobe staple. If not, why not check out Forever21 who do super comfy and super cheap jeans in a range of colours starting from £7.
And of course your après-ski look wouldn’t be complete without some accessories, like some cute mittens to keep your digits warm, and a lumberjill hat (what can I say, I’m a fan!). To complete the look some brightly coloured wayfarers for when (if?) the sun does make an appearance and voila! One après ski bunny is ready!
So stay stylish and warm this winter whether you are at the slopes or not – looking good when the temperature drops is easy! Let’s hope for a long, cold and of course, cosy winter.
