This week, our photographer Emmanuel took these babies for a spin: Hi-top canvas boots from Blue Inc. Here is what Emmanuel had to say about the kicks:
I’m a fan of the canvas boots look that’s out at the moment, the shoes you can wear casually and that you can also wear for low key smart casual occasions ( …like clubbing).
It’s not every time that you hear of a shoe that’s called “Fish N Chips”, and I’ve got to say, once they arrived, the detail in the design of the shoe is really not justified on the blue inc website. For example, the detail at the bottom of the shoe, the stitching on the sides and rear, the ben-sherman-esque insole.
On top of the design, they are comfortable and not tough on the sides like most new shoes usually feel. They do feel a little tight at the front though because of the rounded triangular front which sort of pushes your toes into a group-hug formation (bad joke, I know).
Overall, they are great shoes, fun name, can be worn with almost anything and in different styles. They even look great with the new jeans-rolled-up style that’s out lately. The price (£30) could be lower to be honest, but I don’t think it’s particularly unreasonable. I’d never heard of the brand but thanks to Blue Inc, I do now.
